Texture makes it easier to tie
The tasteful herringbone texture of this high quality bow tie greatly reduces the slipperiness inherent in satin bowties and makes tying it significantly easier. The result is a very malleable, adjustable knot that stays tied nicely. -

Bill's bow tie trumps political gab
Our eyes met across the room, but Sheila Simon's eyes quickly fell to my bow tie.
She shook hands with others on our Quad-City Times editorial board. Important matters of discussion would follow with the lieutenant governor of Illinois.
But she was intrigued by my bow tie.
Simon's dad, the late Paul Simon, was a legendary U.S. senator from Illinois. He was never seen in public without being impeccably dressed in a bow tie. His moniker in Congress was "Sen. Bow Tie." There were some who said he wore a bow tie with his pajamas.
I told Sheila that this was one of her dad's bow ties. I knew that because there is a handmade tag on the inside. It could have been worn during some of American history's great decisions.
"Here, let me adjust your tie," Simon said. She delayed significant editorial board discussion to work on my bow tie. It was a straight across bow tie. No butterfly ends.
"Dad always tied his ties rather roughly. They were never perfect," she said. "You have not tied this tie straight, crooked just like dad tied his. I'll adjust it for you.

Our new-in bow ties are made in England from a beautifully rich Italian silk moiré which gives them body, a shimmy of movement and an irresistible depth of colour. Those who are not as proficient at tying a bow tie as they would like to be will be pleased to learn that they are not alone; certain of our customers ask us to tie their ties for them and then stitch the bow in place. Naturally, we are happy to oblige. And for those who prefer to go it alone, we recommend – as presented below – our pocket handkerchief and general accessories aficionado Adam Barr’s quick and trusty ‘on your leg’ method of producing the perfect knot. Please note that while tying a bow tie is actually rather easier than you might imagine, practise does make perfect.
